How does The Achievers recruit tutors?

The Achievers (先星教育) has a rigorous tutor recruitment programme and looks for top talent around the world. We want every tutor to be the best of the best for our students, with both academic strength and a genuine heart for teaching. Every tutor comes from a top university, has years of teaching experience, or achieved top grades in the subject they teach. Lessons are in Wan Chai, Prince Edward and online for IGCSE, A Level, IBDP, SAT, AP and IELTS.

What do you mean by the best of the best?

It is a hiring standard, not a ranking against every centre in Hong Kong. We ask whether the tutor has the academic strength, can explain the work clearly, and genuinely cares about the student.

Do tutors have to be based in Hong Kong?

No. We recruit in Hong Kong, the UK, the US and Mainland China. Some tutors teach in person in Wan Chai or Prince Edward; others support Hong Kong students online.

What curricula do The Achievers tutors teach?

The Achievers tutors teach IGCSE, GCSE, AS Level, A Level and IBDP in Wan Chai, Prince Edward and online, with SAT, AP and IELTS also available. Star tutors and subject specialists are matched to each student’s level, learning style and goals.

How are students matched with a tutor?

An Academic Consultant reviews the student’s curriculum, current results, target and timetable, then matches a full-time specialist or subject expert. Progress is reviewed through the Achievers Methodology.
